Salomon Snowboards Super 8 | 2023
Whether you're looking for a board that can handle every condition or just have big feet, the Salomon Super 8 Snowboard is a standout mid-wide board. Backseat Camber brings powerful control to your back foot with flat sections near the front for extra float through deep pow. The Quadratic Sidecut promotes easy turn initiation and edge transitions despite the wider waist, so you can shred tight couloirs and crisp corduroy without missing a beat.
Backseat Camber – Camber loaded under the back foot for precision and control, with flat segments under the front foot for superior floatation in deep snow. The best of both worlds!
Flex Rating – 4 (1 Soft - 5 Stiff)
Tapered Directional – Tail width is slightly tapered (2-20mm). This loosens up turning initiation and improves floatation in deeper snow without sacrificing edge hold on hardpack.
Quadratic Sidecut – Quadratic sidecuts use 3 or more radii instead of a continuous radial sidecut. The radii of the sidecut is shallower at the ends and deeper in the middle, which promotes easier turn initiation.
Aspen Select Core – Every single FSC certified wood strip is hand selected to ensure unparalleled core quality and lightness.
Popster – Popster's shaped core profile thins out under foot and thickens outside your bindings before tapering again at tip and tail to maximize the natural snap and pop of wood. Feels like your skateboard kicktail finally connected with your snowboard.
FSC® Certified Wood Core
Biaxial Medium Density Fiberglass – Medium density European-made fiberglass layers guarantee a consistent quality level, for light and lively boards.
C/FX Basalt – Take down of the C/FX superfiber. This version of the C/FX is composed of Basalt & fiber glass for power and smooth ride.
Damplifier – Lightweight honey comb materials and cork combined and strategically placed in the tip and tail for better flotation, less inertia for easier steering, more control, and increased dampening and shock resistance.
ABS Sidewalls – The molecular structure of ABS can be described as a concrete bar with rubber nuggets inside, combining toughness for energy transfer and dampening properties for impact absorption.
Fine Stone Finish – Fine stone finish helps speed up in powder or softer snow conditions.
Sintered Base – Provides a moderate balance between the speed created by a hard surface and good wax retention.
All-Mountain Edge Bevel – A 1° edge holding tune throughout the key parts of the sidecut meets a 2° bevel between the feet. This delivers the most solid edge hold with no hang-ups.
